Marion Bronze Company was established in 1921 by my maternal grandparents, Arthur and Marion France. Their house and adjacent manufacturing plant were located in Metuchen, NJ, on Plainfield Road. The business continued to be operated until 1958 when the France's retired and sold the property and business.
Hello! In researching this particular bookend, which my father owned, I came across your blog. I write blog stories about birds and other creatures and topics. Recently I wrote a story about a bird and this 'monk reading a book' book end. I thought perhaps you would like to see it as there is a photograph of the bookend within the story.
